NVEA

Tactical data communication links are an essential component of modern “network-centric warfare”, and reliability of these networks in the presence of external threats (such as jammers and other countermeasures) is vital to successful mission performance.  Network Vulnerability to Electronic Attack (NVEA) is a software simulation tool which models tactical data links in a hostile electromagnetic environment, and allows evaluation of network performance throughout a planned mission scenario.

NVEA operates both as a stand-alone application and as a component of the large-scale simulations used in mission-level operational testing, including virtual simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing.  Warfare analysts and system engineers will use NVEA to provide realistic modeling of jamming effects on mission performance. Mission planners will use NVEA to determine staging areas, ISR placement, attack routes, and tactics to minimize the effect of enemy communications countermeasures.
